First Common Mistake – Using a soft wood for the play surface. Pucks drop and can dent the wood if you use a soft wood like pine. Always use a harder wood for the play surface — maple is the preferred wood.
Second Common Mistake – Not adding Climatic Adjusters. Climatic adjusters make sure the play surface is true with humidity – see ZieglerWorld for proper placement of adjusters for your play surface.
Third Common Mistake – Using a Sharpie to make the lines on the table. Sharpie’s bleed and will destroy your project! Paint the numbers on using a stencil from a hardware or craft store.
